This document provides detailed directions to the houses where all events are being held, as well as a beautiful and very useful map of Keene Valley (drawn by Ada's uncle Gerrit). Why a map and directions in the age of GPS? Well, there's a bridge under construction in Keene Valley, and we have confirmed that Google Maps tells you to try to cross that bridge if you ask it how to get to the houses. Don't do that :) Instead, follow these lovely directions.
Residents of all houses (Red House, New House, Stone Tower Lodge) are all welcome to park their cars at their houses throughout the week, including during events held at their house.
If you are visiting a house not during an event or party (i.e., any time other than Friday or Saturday evening), you are welcome to park there, since it's unlikely that too many people will swarm any given house. Carpooling is encouraged to lighten the load on the parking, and the number of trips through the bridge detour route.
However, on Friday night, when the New House is hosting a dinner, non-residents should not park there. Similarly, on Saturday night, when the Red House is hosting, non-residents should not park there. Instead, please carpool to Stone Tower Lodge (just below the Red House) or to the parking at the house which is not hosting that night, and one of our lovely volunteer shuttlers will carry you to the party. The intrepid among you may also wish to walk between the New House, Red House, and Stone Tower Lodge, which is perfectly feasible (probably a 10 minute walk between each).
On Sunday, DO NOT drive to the Green House. The directions given are only for shuttle drivers. Guests will be parking in the field next to McDonough’s Valley Hardware where the shuttle will be running.
Exceptions: If you're driving humans a) in car seats or b) over 90 years of age, please do drive directly to events to drop them off. You may still need to return your car to a regular parking spot, depending on exact parking capacity.
